Event Details

Join us for our next British and International Group event. We will be at East Coast Park again. We have a new location, Raintree Cove. It’s a covered area close to the underpass in Area C of the park (close to George’s and Marine Cove).

Sharing is Caring

We are doing POTLUCK again (this means you should bring some food to share with the group, or buy food from the nearby outlets at Marine Cove).

You can bring whatever you want to drink as well.

It’s next to a car park and for those travelling on public transport, there are nearby bus stops.

Give and Receive Hugs

You will be able to mingle, socialise and hug attendees. Just make sure to ask first!

Facts about hugs

  • Hugs boost oxytocin (the “cuddle hormone”) which heals the feeling of loneliness, isolation and anger.
  • Holding a hug for an extended period of time elevates your mood and makes you feel happy
  • Hugging relaxes muscles and releases tension. Hugs can take away pain and soothe aches.
  • Hugs teach us how to give and receive. There is equal value in receiving and being receptive to warmth, as to giving and sharing. Hugs educate us how love flows both ways
  • The energy exchange between two people hugging encourages empathy and understanding.

How to get the full benefits from hugging

Not all hugs are the same. You need to hug for at least 20 seconds to activate the release of oxytocin.

Raintree Cove

Raintree Cove

Raintree Cove has covered areas and is close to the beach and the sea. There is also an outside area we can use, so we don’t need to worry about the weather, the event will take place whether it rains or shines.

As usual, no charge just get your own drinks and food from the nearby outlets in Marine Cove.

It’s a Saturday afternoon at the beach so casual clothing (Bermuda shorts, t-shirt, sandals, etc.).

Hope to see everybody!
